Gespot: Ferdinand (v.Apache) debuteert in 1.50m
Ferdinand, gefokt door H.C. Vonk uit Lienden, stond in 2010 in de catalogus als dressuurveulen. Niet verwonderlijk, gezien zijn fijne manier van bewegen en zijn afstamming met Apache als vader en Bottie H (v.San Remo) als moeder. Bij zijn nieuwe eigenaar Sanne Nilsson in Zweden, die met haar team jonge paarden opleidt tot het hoogste niveau in dressuur, springen en eventing, kwam echter zijn aanleg als springpaard aan het licht. De bruine ruin bleek over dusdanig veel talent te beschikken, dat er werd besloten de focus daarop te leggen. In 2018 maakte Ferdinand, die in de stal ook wel Freddy wordt genoemd, succesvol zijn debuut op nationaal 1.50m niveau met de amazone Cornelia Rylen. Bijzonder, zo vindt ook zijn amazone: “Freddy is een speciaal en sensitief paard. Hij is gek op springen en we waren allemaal zeer onder de indruk van zijn debuut in het 1.50m. Het einde lijkt nog zeker niet in zicht!”
Ferdinand makes debut in 1.50m
In 2010 Ferdinand was listed in the catalogue as a dressage foal. Unsurprisingly, given his lovely movements and pedigree with Apache as his sire and Bottie H (s.San Remo) as his dam. At his new owner Sanne Nilsson in Sweden, whose team produces young horses to the highes levels in dressage, jumping and eventing, his natural ability for showjumping came to light. The bay gelding appeared to posess so much talent that it was decided to shift the focus on this sport. In 2019 Ferdinand, also known as Freddy, made his succesful debut at national 1.50m level with Cornelia Rylen. Quite remarkable, agrees his rider: “Freddy is a special and sensitive horse. He loves to jump and we were all very impressed by his debut in the 1.50m. I think there is a bright future ahead of him!”
