Kick is bred out of the mare Bijou, who performed on 1.35m-level herself. She is a half sister of the international showjumper Sly S (s.Ahorn) of Marco Sassara. The damline traces back on Zerita, who is half sister of the KWPN approved and 1.35m jumping stallion Koriander (s.Contender) as well as the international showjumper Tatjana 56 (s.Lorenz) of Luciana Diniz. Out of this offshoot of the Holsteiner damline 776 we also know international showjumpers like Conte Della Caccia (s.Canturo), Lord Incipit (s.Lord) and Black Incipit (s.Wiesenferdl). Both sire Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve and damsire Chin Chin performed on Grand Prix level successfully and produced many Grand Prix jumpers. For example Tangelo sired the victorious Victoria, Venus, Warrior and Bintang II.
